Sewage/ Effluent/ Drinking Water/ River Water Quality

Sewage
Under Regulation 10 of Environmental Quality (Sewage) Regulations 2009, a premise that discharge or cause or permit the discharge of sewage onto or into any soil, or into any inland waters or Malaysian waters shall, at his own expenses : –

  1. Monitor the concentration of the parameters specified in the first column of the Second Schedule.
  2. The owner shall submit maintain a record of sewage discharge monitoring data in the format as specified in the Fifth Schedule and submit to DOE within 30 days after end of the calendar month.

Industrial Effluent
Under Regulation 7 of Environmental Quality (Sewage) Regulations 2009, a premise that discharge or cause or permit the discharge of industrial effluent or mixed effluent onto or into any soil, or into any inland waters or Malaysian waters shall, at his own expenses : –

  1. Monitor the concentration of the COD and any parameter specified in the first column of the Fifth Schedule.
  2. The owner shall submit maintain a record of sewage discharge monitoring data in the format as specified in the Tenth Schedule and submit to DOE within 30 days after end of the calendar month.

Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) & River Water Analysis
The purpose of a wastewater (POME) analysis is in compliance with the terms and conditions of the palm oil mill operation approval license. Under the term and conditions, the project proponent shall monitor the wastewater quality with accordance with the Environmental Quality (Prescribed Premises) (Crude Palm Oil) Order 1977 as well 500m of upstream and downstream river water from final discharge.

Drinking water Analysis
Decent living conditions is one of the criteria in Principle 4 MSPO requirement. Therefore, living conditions for the employees play a very vital role to ensure their welfare of the employees. The criterion emphasizes on the living conditions of employees, i.e, housing, clean water for domestic use are provided to employees and their families. Thus, drinking water quality are require to be monitored to ensure the treated water are safe for consumption.
